Some people have alarm clocks that beep, some that buzz, some that turn on music.

I have one that never knocks when she comes in, yells at me to get up, leaves the door open when she leaves, makes loud noises in front of the door, yells more, calls my name, yet doesn't reply when I shout 'What?!?' back at her.  She tries to guilt me out of bed.  And takes the covers with her, pokes me, prods me, sits on me (and she's not light when she's on my stomach), bounces on me, lets the dogs into my room, tries to get them to lick me, bark at me, and hop on me.

And that's only in the first fifteen minutes.  When you've only had a couple hours sleep, that doesn't get through your head.

Then when she sees that, it starts all over again.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

All I wanted was fifteen minutes of unadulterated, sequential, blissful silence to try to sleep.  Miraculously, she went away.  A minute later, I learn she's left the door open, still has the dogs howling, is banging around as if I should be guilty.  I try to ignore it, and then everything starts to fade.  Finally, blissful silence.  Next thing I know, she's yelling my name.  I looked at the clock.

It was only 7 out of 15 minutes.  And I didn't have to be anywhere!

I hate waking up.

Especially to my demonspawn Mother of an alarm clock. Demonspawn, I tell you.

*dies*

See, my parents realized when I was still living with them that my dad was the only one who could wake me up. All it took was him sitting on my bed and saying my name.

My mom always got me muttering angry things at her.

I sympathize.

Hee, all my Dad has to do is stand at the door and say my name. I'll usually answer, but it takes more than a word to get me up, if I'm feeling stubborn. :D

Mom almost threw water on me today. I could -feel- it coming, when she came in my room with a glass of water in with her.

Yep. I'm like a cat. Don't want to be sprayed with it!

Dang. Jazzy, time to trade your alarm clock in methinks.

But really, have you tried sitting down as two adults and talking about it? Though she doesn't really sound the mature type to be able to do that...

Maybe install a bar on the inside of your bedroom door??

*mumbles* She just wants her own way. It's been this way as long as I can remember. When I'm at the folks' house, that is. When I'm at school (THANK GOD FOR SCHOOL APARTMENTS) she likes to call me when she leaves for work to make sure I'm up. That is about 7, 7:30, if she's feeling generous. And two -hours- before I have a damn class. And then squawk at me when I don't answer.

Or when I tell her to get stuffed. :D

(No, I never said it, exactly, but would that I could. :D )

I think you need to buy her parenting books or some other kind of book that she'll read, that demonstrates the relationship she should have with her daughter at this age.:)

Yeah.. Anything I get for her as a gift or otherwise, she never reads or uses. She just.. sorta smiles oddly and says that she wished I hadn't.
